My First...

...Trip to AUMC
Braylen (with mom and dad!) finally made it to church for the first time. He was four weeks old. He really did well, but poor ol Brannon didn't get much out of Sunday School since he moved to the back of the classroom as Braylen is so loud when he eats. Not to mention the loud burp he let out! We made an executive decision that for the next several weeks we will just have to alternate who goes to church and who stays home with him. (until we are ready for him to go to the church nursery)

...BATH!!!That umbilical cord finally fell off (5. 19.10) while Brannon was in Las Vegas for work. I waiting until he got home to give Braylen his first bath. (5.20.10) I think he did pretty well with the bath. He was already a little tired and hungry so by the end he was not too amused by the process, but as you can see in the pictures below he was in no way miserable!

Look at that budda belly!

...Trip to Cartersville!

While Brannon was in Vegas, Braylen and I spent about a week in Cartersville with Meme and O. (Mac, Chelsea and River were there too!) Meme had a little "Sip and See" for several of her friends to come see Braylen. Everyone was so sweet and Braylen received many gift! Braylen started the party in a sweet little blue gown with the baby booties that Grandmother made, but just as the party was starting he had a MAJOR blowout! It went all up his back, all over his outfit and all over me! Fortunately Aunt Mary just walked in the door as she was able to help me get him changed while I cleaned myself up as well. Thanks to Aunt Gigi, we had another precious outfit to put on.

...Trip to Barnsley Gardens!
Everyone loves Barnsley and I am sure Braylen did too. We had lunch with Mrs. Marjorie and cruised around the ruins for a little while. It was exhausting for Braylen!

No 'first' for this picture, we just thought it was cute! Braylen really likes to eat... he looks like he is in a total milk coma! When we went to his one month old check up we found out he weighed 11 pounds! We were shocked! We were guessing he would weigh 10 lbs, but 11?!?! He is one healthy boy!
We love you little one!

My 1st Mother's Day

So I totally forgot that I was celebrated as a mommy for the first time this year. We were busy getting ready to go see Grammie when Braylen gave me a card with a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. (BTW-awesome gift!) I realized that I was thinking about Meme and Grammie and forgot that I was REALLY a mom this year too. It was pretty cool! (Thanks Braylen and Brannon, I love my gift!)
Sooooo it only took us an hour and a half to get out the door Sunday morning, but we did it! Here are a couple pictures from that day.
Me, Braylen and THE chair! (this is the chair we find ourselves hanging out in most days! Its quite comfy! Thanks Mary and Kevin!)
Grammie on Mother's Day with her boys!

As you can tell from these pictures, all Braylen did on Mother's Day was eat!!!

At Home... Week Two

Here are a few more pictures as we celebrate two weeks with Braylen. He is still super sweet and a great baby. As we got closer to three weeks old he has had a few days where all he wants to do is eat! He still doesn't always want to 'latch' on very well, but he doesn't seem to be lacking for food. Brannon and I think he is filling out quite nicely. He continues to have lots of poopy diapers and always seems to decides he needs to poo when we are changing him. That can make for a lovely mess, but good thing we seem to find it pretty funny!
We also had Braylen's newborn pictures taken this week. The sneak peeks should be up soon. I'll let you know when they are ready.
Because of that we decided it was time for Braylen to have his first shampoo. We have not been able to give him a "real" bath because the umbilical cord has still not fallen off, but in the picture below you can see his first shampoo! He really didn't seem to mind the water.

We just liked this pictures because he has a duck on his booty!

We are trying hard to read to Braylen often. It cracks us up the way he will settle down and listen to a story. He will just stare at the person reading or at the pictures in the book.
Okay so mommy looks pretty rough, but Braylen and I really needed a nap!Daddy and his little boy. Braylen's shirt says "Dad Loves Me."

At Home With Braylen

As we are trying to settle into life as "parents" we can't help but enjoy this sweet little boy with a ton of photos. We have had lots of family to celebrate with and the pictures to prove it! (see below)
I can't believe he will be two weeks old tomorrow. Some nights seem a little longer than others, but overall I have to say he is such a good baby. We have had some hysterical moments like when he pooped on my hand (twice) and when he 'wet' on Brannon, me and Grammie, (three seperate occasions) as well as getting himself wet in the process. He is quite the little squirt to say the least!
We are truly so blessed and we know it. We have been given the gift of a lifetime. The gift of a healthy and beautiful baby boy. We are so thankful to be his parents.
My guys! Hanging with all the girls! Cela Grace, Braylen, Camille and Caroline
