Birthday, Swimming and Suzie!

I think I'm forming a pattern... I don't have time to blog and then I have a lot to catch up on... so here we go!

Brannon's Birthday was July 10th and he celebrated the big 3-0! We had Jess, Hunter, the girls, Jan and Len over to cook out burgers and just hang out. We had a blast with our little girlies and Aunt Jess held Braylen all night, as if she doesn't deserve a break from lovin' on babies all the time. But I know Braylen enjoyed himself!


Below you can see our birthday family photo. (Plus one!)Brannon blowing out his '30' bithday candle (it was an 80, but Poppy got a hold of the 8 and made it a 3) But of course Brannon got some help from Caroline and Camille. We actually had to do it twice because Caroline was so quick the first time we had to give Camille and chance to help Bubba too!

Finally! We got a picture of Uncle Hunter and Braylen as well and sweet Cela Grace too!

Braylen's first trip to the pool. So we really though he looked super cute in his speedo. We didn't stay long because everytime Brannon would dip him in the water it would take his breath away. I guess it was a little too cool!

So... Aunt Mary, Suzie and Collier were supposed to come and stay for a week while I had to work and Brannon was in Las Vegas, but Collier got sick so Meme came to the rescue (again!). When O came to pick up Meme, Suzie got to come for a short visit as well. I loved this picture of her reading "The Belly Button Book" to her little cousin. Other general updates...

Braylen has decided he doesn't really like to sleep. He HATES to sleep on his back, so I have done the unthinkable and let him sleep in his belly or he sleeps in his swing.

He is still eating quite well as you can see in the pictures!

He has really found his voice and when he does take a good nap he will wake up so happy and ready to talk. He is actually trying to laugh a little too.

He loves to hold his hands and rub them together.

The lastest is that he likes to stick his tongue out and i think he is trying to start razzing too. It is of course soooo cute!

Sleep...oh precious sleep

Yes, it is true... there is much sleep lost once your bring home a sweet little baby, but every parent in there right mind would tell you it is TOTALLY worth it. Even though it is worth it, it doesn't mean that you don't miss that precious uninterrupted sleep. :)
So baby Braylen has decided that he hates being placed on his back to sleep, he would much prefer to be in his swing, even if the swing is not swinging. I guess he just likes more of a sitting up position. Because of this change we have been up a lot more frequently during the night. (making mommy very tired) But I have to tell the world (or at least the three or so people that actually read this) that my baby is asleep in his crib! He was asleep in my arms when I was rocking him, but woke as soon as I laid him in his crib. I continued to rub his back and pat his hiney and he fell asleep and has been there for the past 10 minutes! That is a HUGE victory in my book. Oh the little joys in life!
